| About Us |
| For so many of us, clothing can evoke strong memories – I can still remember going with my mother to the local fabric store with her Butterick, McCalls, or Simplicity patterns in hand, looking for that perfect fabric to make her next trim, precise and chic dress or skirt. |
By the time I was noticing design trends, the fabric stores were gone and so was my mother’s Singer sewing machine. My first memories of design and clothing were my wedding dress plucked off the racks of a tiny bridal boutique on Lexington, my first business suits proudly purchased at Ann Taylor on my overburdened credit cards, and luckily, an annual Christmas gift of a beautifully wrapped box under the tree with an exquisite silk scarf inside.
As my collection grew, time passed and my life changed, slowly the scarves were tucked away – and out came more reliable and yes, practical clothing such as an old jean jacket that seemed to never go out of style.
Then, one day, as I was cleaning out my closet and considering whether or not to donate a stack of scarves I had collected over the years...I had an idea. What if I lined my jacket with the scarf, and made something old new again? The final result was a beautiful jacket I could wear almost anywhere. When my friends asked me where I bought it, I had to reveal my secret.
Since then, growing numbers of women have given me their favorite denim jackets and scarves to put together, and each one came out reflecting that person's sense of style and personality, with a modern yet classic twist.
I decided to start Good Jeans in the spring of 2008 as a home-based, custom jean jacket company. Take some time to view our Gallery to see some of the jackets we've already done. And, if you're interested in your very own Good Jeans jacket, click on the How It Works page which has all the details.
Also, I also encourage you to read about Good Jean’s support of the Breast Cancer Care Foundation to learn more about this important organization which is trying to bridge the gap in breast cancer care. Thank you for visiting Good Jeans. |
